Big wedding with elopement style portraits

Every now and then I get a wedding where I get to bring out the creativity and try out something new. With Bethany & Joe, I got to do just that!

I met this couple almost 2 years ago now for their engagement shoot at Roundhay Park, we initially agreed to go to the Otley Chevin as it’s super close to their wedding venue at the Chilli Barn, however due to the rainy conditions, we went for the cover of Roundhay. Almost a year later, when we were catching up about their wedding plans, I offered to reshoot their engagement photos hoping for some better weather and to finally get to the Otley Chevin. And boy oh boy, safe to say it was a good idea because I’ve never been to happy with the outcome of some photos before! That was until their actual wedding day…

We started the day out at at The Chevin End Guest House for all things preparations. The view from the balcony was already just stunning, and it’s hard to believe this is only a few miles out from Leeds city centre. With preparations complete, I went to greet our groom at The Chilli Barn where the guests were arriving and I also got to meet Georgina from Hazel & Hound, I had been following her on instagram for years!

Thanks to some beautiful weather, the ceremony was held outside the Chilli Barn and the sun even came out as Beth walked down the aisle.

The day was full of festivities, lots of food, handmade deserts and lawn games. This was the first time I had shot outdoor speeches on hay bales and I honestly loved the format and ow intimate it was.

Throughout the evening, we kept our eyes on the sun and waited for the perfect moment to go back to the Otley Chevin to recreate those engagement photos, and my word, the weather and the sun was spot on, as well my beautiful couple.
